Week 5 of my Entrepreneurial Journey

WHAT I LEARNED

I feel as though I am being tested to see how badly I want this! Will I be like Erica Mills (*a), and take every opportunity, good and bad to learn and grow? Will I just say, "I am a mom and wife and that is where I need to be", and push my entrepreneurial journey aside? This isn't even a real question to me after this week! We have had two very unexpected deaths occur in the past week. One was a very beloved lady in our ward. Seemingly very healthy, and this news came as a huge shock to all who knew her. Glee lived her namesake, that's for sure. The other happened just a few days later. My husband's uncle had just spent two weeks with his daughter and their family, before traveling cross country to live with his sister and brother in law. He did not make it. He was found face first on the side of the road by a trucker. Again, young, healthy and a complete shock. The next huge event was one we have been dealing with for a couple of months now. We decided through the counsel of our son, Andrew's mission President that sharing this awful news about his cousins , Aunt and Uncle, to share with Andrew on his P day, which was Monday. We knew this would be incredibly hard for him to take and prepared by talking to his mission President, our Bishop and our Stake President and asking for them to keep Andrew in their prayers, and to reach out and check on him as they felt inspired. Today we attended one funeral, and tomorrow, we will be attending another. Why is all of this relevant to the question of "Am I really ready for this"? During all of this, my mind struggled to focus on the less important things, but I was able with the Lord's help push through. I have been able to keep up with my assignments, and put the things that I have been learning specifically my core values and my spiritual guardrails into play. They have constantly been on my mind, and in my heart. I know that as I take all of these hard life events and let them help me learn and grow, and keep myself consistently aligned with the Lord's teachings, I will for sure be able to be like Erica Mills. Sometimes I may be able to speed along in this journey, and some times I may have to slow down. That is totally fine. Everyone's journey will be different. I am excited about my entrepreneurial journey.

WHAT I STILL NEED TO LEARN

I had every intention of digging more fully into the topic of financial fitness this week. This became a back burner topic this week, as I was purely running on fumes and extra anxiety medicine. I Look forward to spending more time reading the book Mastery. I also want and hope to study more fully about this weeks topics, as I know that it all went in and out of my brain at the same pace.

The reality is, this week stunk so bad! My family has had so many trial lately, as have some of our best friends. Plus everyone in our house was sick a couple of days. I found myself very thankful for a light week with school. On top of it all, I rolled my right ankle so badly, that the outside was swollen to the size of a softball....

Week 11

11-27-21 WHAT I LEARNED This week was a crazy busy, yet very blessed Thanksgiving week. My favorite part about this week was by far reading "Formula for Success", by Thomas S. Monson. The part the stood out to me the most was the following; "From those parables I would like to suggest that if we are really to be, a chosen generation, we have the responsibility to be prepared, to be productive, to be faithful, and to be fruitful as well........" He goes on to explain how we are to accomplish this. He says; "First, f...
